[dropcap]S[/dropcap]o here I am traveling by bus. 36 hours. To Florence.
Unlike airplanes, trains, and cars I do not sleep on buses at least not well. I can now longer boast that I can fall asleep anywhere. Sigh. It’s vexing really.
My poor sister. She receives the brunt of my sleep deprive attitude which assure you is not pretty no matter how hard I try. I always snap and am grumpy. My family joke that I can be slightly like Dr. Jeckel and Mr. Hyde. Although frankly I’ve never read the book so I wouldn’t know. Always at my extreme tiredness Kate asks “if I am mad at her. ” Instantly I feel rebuffed and instead of being sweet like in my head I raise my eyebrows and sent her a glare and snap of “course not!!!” Every. Dang. Time. Thankfully my sister loves me. We wouldn’t have made it this far if grace and love didn’t enter the equation. I am convinced that a good long trip overseas is enough to test whether or not a sister bond (or a marriage bond, family bond, ect.) can test whether or not it will stand. Thankfully it stands strong. Some days it stands stronger then others. If possible the rare calls, except of late somehow we’ve been able to call more frequently, (although Dad rarely gets a chance to talk due to work schedules) have made our relationships with our parents even sweeter. Relationships take work wouldn’t you know?
I’ve been listening to music on my iPod. I’ve discovered I don’t particularly like the Beatles at least one of their songs. But I’m still waiting to pass the final judgement until at least 5 songs. My random songs that my IPod picks is quite nice. I am developing my go to songs for when I get back to the states and start driving again. I dearly love music when I drive, clean, and work.
When one has been sitting for close to 12.5 hours things start to hurt !!! I got out to pass Through Passport security and funnily enough my legs felt jittery. Thankfully I *did not* collapse…until I shakily reached my seat. Water is a must. It revives me like coffee…only it’s healthier and all that jazz.
I suppose I should mention we’re in France. Funny how this post started in England and now France. We’ll be back again in Paris. Paris- I have a post about her. Now if I can just finish the 7 drafts that I have. That’s the problem traveling so quickly and not having wifi readily available. Wifi on buses are annoyingly slow. Writing takes time as do editing photos. You begin stories in the country you’re in and before you’re quite finished off we go again. Don’t worry my dear friends, I aim to tell you of Paris, London, and Scotland since I last wrote in Romania.
I hope you are doing well. Drinking something comforting and enjoying this blog. I’ve learned much on this trip. If I ever get around to it I’ll tell you about the mistakes gone good and the mistakes gone “really” bad. Oh. The stories that have made me cry will turn into peals of laughter years later I am sure.
